Until her health failed, she faithfully attended Great Commission Church of God, where she served on the visitation and kitchen committees, and attended Sunday School regularly. Many Sundays, her home was the center of plenty of good food and fun. She loved to cook, so the kitchen and living room was always crowded with young people and older saints alike. Anyone who visited her home left with both a full belly and a full soul.
Ruby was affectionately known as "Granny/' to her grandchildren (and most family friends), and "Nana" to her great grandchildren. She left her earthly body to gain her heavenly reward on Wednesday June 3, 2020 at the age of 97 years 4 months.

Granny's Favorite Bible Passage
Psalms 1:1-6
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
