Herb graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1976. He attended Indiana University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English May 9, 1981.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys C. Payton.
Herb will be greatly missed by his father, Hubert W. Payton; brothers, Lawrence Payton and Ernest Payton; sisters, Sharman (Richard) Galloway and Cindy Payton (Kenny) Bowman.
A Celebration Gathering will be held Saturday, September 20th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM in Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224.
