
Shirley Radford Finley 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away October 30, 2021. Shirley was born August 2, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lemuel Radford and Lanese Looper Radford. Shirley was one of ten children. She was baptized at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church as a young girl.
Shirley was a lifetime resident of Indiana and a proud graduate of Arsenal Technical High School class of 1955. She also earned her Practical Nursing diploma. Shirley worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital Newborn Nursery and Three Sisters Nursing Home. Shirley married Clyde Finley who is now deceased.
Shirley faced many difficult health challenges. Her manner continued to be gentle and caring, expressing unconditional love for her children and family. Shirley’s passing leaves a space in our hearts with memories of her gentle spirit and loving kindness.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Lemuel and Lanese Radford; siblings Carl E. Radford Sr. Francis Maul, Barbara Dunn, Ann Ford, Carol Priest, Frederick Sterling Radford and Janet Hale.
Surviving to carry on her legacy are her children; Tawanna Finley, Lisa Wilkerson (Woodrow) & David Finley, siblings; Phillip Radford & Vera Radford, grandchildren; DaYonna Finley & Tamyah Finley as well as a host of family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, November 12, 2021, Visitation from 10am until 12noon at
Crown Hill Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Carl E. Radford Jr., Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.
