

Stanley leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted spouse of 35 years, Anthony “Tony” D. Taylor, Sister, Jacqueline Toliver, Brother, Mark Toliver, Niece, Kiara Toliver, and two great-nephews, Desean and Marcus Toliver all of Indianapolis as well as Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving Mother, Joanna and Father, Freddie Lee Toliver both of Indianapolis.
Stanley was born on September 8, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Joanna and Freddie Lee Toliver. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1979.
He was employed with Southwire located in Plainfield, Indiana as a Certified Fork Lift Operator for four years. His work ethic and dedication to his position was unparalleled. Prior to his employment at Southwire Stanley was a culinary professional at the Hyatt Regency here in Indianapolis for over 18 years.
Stanley was an avid/skilled bowler for over 25 years. He was a member of The National Bowler’s Association (TNBA) and the United States Bowlers Chapter (USBC) local chapter. He was also a member of the tournament team “The Thunderbolts” with whom he traveled nationally with team members Rhonda and Jamie for many years. He was a Friday night bowler at Hindel Bowl and a team member of the “Brown Bombers”.
Stanley loved to cook, bake (an avid baker), dance, roller skate (an accomplished skater) travel, entertain and have parties often at his home with family and friends. He was an active and dedicated member of the Life Journey Church and was a member of the hospitality committee for many years. He also volunteered with the church homeless and outreach ministry.
Stanley will always be remembered for his infectious smile, laughter, calm demeanor, outgoing personality just a “likeable guy”. He had a special love in his heart for his two great-nephews DeSean and Marcus of whom he considered his own children. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
A home going service is scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at Life Journey Church, with a reception to follow at 2950 East 55th Place, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. Visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with home going service to follow. Pastor Vivian Wyatt, Minister of Care and Business Administration, at Life Journey Church will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Stanley’s life.
