She attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She was employed as a Home Health Aid until she became ill. Stephanie was a devoted and faithful member of Eastern Star Church, where she was a member of the Mass Choir. She enjoyed life, dancing the people around her. She was a truly phenomenal woman, phenomenally.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Jonathan and Kathryn Brooks and brothers Edward A. Smith and Nathaniel Brooks.
Stephanie is survived by two daughters, Belinda Banks-Wilkins and Tamika S. Banks; five grandchildren: Brittany N. Banks, Briana Murff, King Wilkins, Antwon Banks and Ambrea' Banks; two great grandchildren: Zion and Ziya Murphy; sisters: Jacquelyn Smith Conkleton (Lee), Jo Kathy Leavell (Jody), Louise Brooks, Deborah Sprowls, Sheila Brooks, Barbara Brooks and Robin King; sixteen nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
