

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James “Gregg” Castner, who passed away in 2004; and her brother, Alvin Rennier.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Jacob (Stacie) Castner, Jenna (Doug) Ward, and Jamie Castner; her cherished grandchildren, Jace and Connor Ward; and her beloved partner, Michael Noel. She is also survived by her sisters, Diane (Rodney) Pickett, Joyce (Daniel) Van Treese, and Joan (Michael) Pearson; her brothers, Ronald (Maria) Rennier, Gary (Regina) Rennier, and Mark Rennier; along with several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Susan dedicated most of her professional life to Anthem, where she eventually retired. She was a hard worker and took great pride in her career and accomplishments.
Above all else, Susan treasured time spent with her family and friends. She found joy in the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, and loved traveling to the beach. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting and gardening. Susan also delighted in quiet evenings watching movies and spending peaceful nights outdoors by her pond.
Susan will be cremated, and a service celebrating her life will be held on January 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary (the mortuary will change it's name on January 1st to Indiana Funeral Care East), 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A visitation will take place immediately prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Susan will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
