Sylvester Earl Rowe III, age 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Sylvester was born June 19, 1957 in Indianapolis to Sylvester E. Rowe II and Jean Majors Jackson. Sylvester graduated from Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering technology. He was a member of the New Directions Church, Purdue Black Engineers Association, the National Society of Black Engineers and the Amputees' Association. He worked for Indiana Bell as a lead data technician from 1984 -1987 and Sprint as the regional assistant engineer retiring in 2002. After retirement he worked as a supervisor in various places. While working for Indiana Bell (Eli Lilly) he met his now ex-wife Sharon, uniting in marriage in 1989 to have three children, along with her three children. Sylvester leaves his legacy to his children Briana (Chris) Rowe, Savannah Rowe and Sylvester Rowe IV, his cherished grandchildren Eric Scott, Jr., Elijah Scott and Exavier (Best Friend) Scott, his beloved brother Terrence (Neesha) Jackson and sister Vanessa (Robert, Jr.) Epps. Celebration of Sylvester's Life will be Saturday, February 6 at 12 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary with visitation an hour before the service. Due to Covid-19 social distance, facemask and a limit to 50 people in the building will be observed. Sylvester wrote this on his Facebook page on September 23, 2019: Thinking back 27 years ago, I was truly blessed to have a 1.5 year old daughter and brand new twins! This picture has been the memory behind the driving force of our life and journey together! It is truly my honor to be your Father, trusted by God to raise you three. I thank God for the time and memories that he has allowed us to share! With all my love.
