

He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19. During his time of service, he became an SGT and sniper. He received a Bronze Star, 3 Purple Hearts, and a Combat Action Ribbon. He served from April 21, 1967, in Akron Ohio with an Honorable discharge on January 3, 1977, from the Vietnam War and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tom later became a truck driver and relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. He was employed by HVAF (Hoosier Veteran Assistance Foundation). The HVAF was a veteran organization that would assist with helping veterans find jobs and housing. This was a great place for Tom to work due to his passion for wanting to help other veterans in need. While employed at the HVAF, he met his future wife, Earma Andrews. They later were united in Holy Matrimony on July 5, 2003.
Tom was a faithful member of Fall Creek Parkway Church of Christ. After completing the Fishers of Men courses, he conducted bible studies with many veterans. He and his wife Earma, would engage other Church Members to participate in bible studies with them on Wednesday evenings at the Freedom Center. Many souls were added to the body of Christ from their bible studies.
Tom loved to fish and take his family on fishing trips during the summers. He was a person who always made people laugh and made jokes. He had a crazy sense of humor and never changed for anybody. He always had something smart to say. He would always say “What you see is what you get”. During his down-time, he loved to watch country western movies. He also wrote poems about his time served in the USMC.
Tom was called home on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 74. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted Wife of 20 years, Earma Andrews, and two stepdaughters, Tiffany Reed, and Tenisha Robinson. Two Grandchildren, Charlese and Trent Robinson. His sister Marie Speck (James Speck), sister-in-law, Bobbie Howard, and brother-in-law, James Williams. And a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and friends.
