Timothy Reed Mongan

Timothy Reed Mongan, son of Paul and Ina Reed Mongan, was born August 7, 1941, and passed away January 4, 2023. Tim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all. He excelled as a Christian man, All-Big Ten athlete, teacher, coach, contractor and farmer. His kindness and love of jokes and humor lightened the lives of all around him. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn S. Mongan; children David Mongan Sr (Patti), Lynn Mongan Yates, Kevin Mongan (Cindy); stepchildren Dana Spikes Thyen (Chris), Gina Spikes Breedlove (Rick). Grandchildren David Mongan, Jr. (Ashley), Nick Mongan (Amelia), Laura Yates (Dan Comeau), Jonathan Yates (Ulyana), Abigail Mongan, Sarah Thyen Brassard (Nick), Anna Thyen, David Thyen, Kate Breedlove, and Colby Breedlove. Great-grandchildren Tripp, Kiptyn, Lee, Victor, Nina, Ari and Lyla. He was predeceased by his brother, Tony Mongan. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Hampton Gentry Funeral home in Plainfield, IN. Calling from 1-3pm; funeral service 3-4pm.
