

Tommie S. Allen was born January 4, 1951to Tom Allen and Brazil Parham of Tuscaloosa, AL. Upon his mother’s death, Tommie was raised by Willie C. Brown and Luberta (Bert) Brown. He attended Alabama Public Schools and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis.
Tommie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Greater Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Joel Day.
Tommie was a dedicated worker at Greyhound for 13 years. Later he put his love for driving into a different field and drove Semi’s for National Distributions Truck Co. He ended his working career close to home at Sherwood Nursing Home.
Tommie was a passionate fisherman and an avid gardener. He enjoyed R & B music and has an extensive record collection. He loved to travel the long and winding roads of our country, visiting family and friends. He served in the US Army for a brief time but soon decided it wasn’t for him.
Tommie S. Allen departed this life on Friday, August 29, 2015 at the age of 64 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Rosie L. Pittman- Allen; mother Brazil Parham, father Tom Allen; brothers, Jerome Allen and Wilford Lee Allen and father Willie C. Brown
Tommie leaves to cherish his memory to his mother Luberta (Bert) Brown; children, Daniel Grundy- Bey, Robert Allen, Yalonda (Michael), Allen- Cobbs, (Yaletta Russell, Tammy Allen- Davis (Davion Davis), Tommy S. Allen II,(Chris Lugo); companion Erma (Jodi) Lawzer; sisters Gloria (Jean) Ferrell Marla (Ann) Sealy; 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and dear friends.
