Tony Newson

Mr. Tony Newson, son of Mose Lewis and JoAnn Martin Mimms and biological father, Eddie C. Newson was born January 18, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tony attended Indianapolis Public School # 26 and Broad Ripple High School. Tony professed a hope in Christ at the age of 15 years and united with Bethel Apostolic Church.

Tony was employed in the medical field for over 35 years working at various nursing homes as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for 20 years. Tony’s last employment was with Cambridge Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for two years before his retirement due to his illness. Tony loved caring for those in need of professional nursing care.

Tony united in Holy Matrimony to the former Charleen Morris on February 16, 2006.

Tony loved to bowl, being around his family and loved visiting with them. He was loving, caring and a joy to be around. Tony had a sparking smile that would light up any room he was in. Tony was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony Newson departed this life on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the age of 57 years. Tony was preceded in death by his biological father, Eddie C. Newson; brothers, Delbert “Ray” Mimms and Derrick “Ricky” Mimms.

Tony leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Tony L. Newson and Kendall Stevenson; daughter, Dontae Towers; parents, Mose Lewis and JoAnn Mimms; siblings, Larry Newson, Sr.; Erica Mimms-Edmonds (Eric); Michael Newson (Pasty); Ricky Newson; Holly D. Dotson; Cheryl L. Starkey; Brian Newson; Cheryl Newson; Keith Newson; Jeffrey Newson; Carl Franklin; Debbie Newson; Antonia Rawlings; Darlene Mimms and Clifford Mimms; 14 grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many cherished friends.
