Mrs. Vera Josephine Akers-Miller, 86 died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Mrs. Miller had been employed for many years as an Educator in the Indianapolis Public School System. She was married to Mr. Tracy Lee Miller and was a member of Pilgrim Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Miller is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tracy Lee Miller, daughters; Mary H. Williams (Randle), Jothea Evans, and Kim Cooper (James), step-daughters; Deborah Miller, Annette Miller and Melodie Woods, step-sons; Tracy L. Miller, Jr.(Linda), Cornelius Adams, and Curtis Miller, brothers; Vernon Akers, John E. Akers (Kathryn), sisters; Thelma Akers and Mary Torrence, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, other relatives, church family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home-Peoples Chapel 5252 East 38th Street. Family and Friends visitation will be from 11 am until time of service. Burial: Crown Hill Cemetery Arrangements: Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
