Virginia Lillian Ruley 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2010 in Indianapolis. She was born in Washington, IN to the late Elijah Oswald and Anna Hermance Ward. Virginia was a graduate of Glendale, IN Elementary and High School and graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Nursing. She worked for the Radio Corporation of America as an Industrial Nurse for 40 years. Nursing was a love of her life and she continued nursing after retirement. Virginia attended the First Baptist Church of Beech Grove. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and "Bingo". Virginia is survived by her son, Michael Robert (Kathryn Ann) Ruley M.D.; grandchildren, Kevin Michael (Kellie) Ruley, Brian Christopher (Julie) Ruley M.D., Jennifer Leanne (Shawn) Holmes; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Virginia) Ward; sister-in-law, Iella (Kenneth) Bayless; nieces, Nancy Ellis, Lynn Wyand, Charlotte Yochum, Cynthia Holman, Kate Taylor, Gwendolyn Grundel and Mary Rooks; nephews, Mark Betner, Kenneth Bayless, and Robert Bayless. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Ruley; sisters, Lorena Wilson and Barbara Utterback; brother, John Ward; sisters-in-law, Dorsie Betner and Frances Jones; nephew, Roy Ward, and niece, Collette Heiple. Friends may call at Little & Sons Funeral Home Stop 11 Chapel on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services are Thursday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Beech Grove, 5521 Churchman Ave., Beech Grove, IN 46203, with visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
