Waller professed his hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Where he was a faithful member who served as a Deacon and on the Pastor Promoters Committee.
Waller attended Rosenwald Public School, Providence Kentucky and Indianapolis Public School Crispus Attucks, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Waller enlisted in the United States Army 1952-1954 where he was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon w/2, Bronze Campaign Stars, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Waller was employed by General Motors Truck and Bus from 1959-1990. Retiring after 30 years of service. Waller was also a Mason Member of Central Lodge #1.
Waller enjoyed fishing, hunting, and he was a Master on the grill. Waller prepared a ham that will be missed by all. Waller enjoyed chowing down on wild game such as rabbit, squirrel, and “coon” (raccoon). After finishing a great meal, Waller would lean back in his recliner while rubbing his stomach and say, “Tight as a Tick!”
Waller was preceded in death by Homer G. and Sallie R. Chappel (parents); Shyni Cappel (brother); and Waller Jr, William Eric, Earnest, Edward, Willie, and Adrian (sons).
Waller leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Martha M. Chappel; son LeMichael Chappel(Margaret); daughters, Danna Appleton (Carl, who preceded him in death) and Betty Hankins (Tracy who preceded him in death); brother, Michael Chappel (Judy); sisters-in-law, Georgia Anderson (Donald) and Rosa Price; grandchildren Danielle, Joe Damon, Dante (Tina), Eric and Veronica; three great grandchildren Taysia, Brylon and Eric; three great, great, grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews. Waller will be truly missed by his little darlings who brought him joy and happiness, Dominick Webb, Rochelle and ReSean Anderson along with Valentino Williams. Waller’s loving godchildren Kandace Rippy, Karl McMichel, Jr. (Jackie), Michelle Ford (Gerald), Latisha Adams (Charles, Jr.) and Terry Myles. Special friend Lindell Hester(Chicago), and special cousin, LaDonna Gray.
