
Warren William Manns, was born September 13, 1943 to William and Nettie Manns and was their firstborn son. Warren accepted Christ at a young age in his birthplace of Roanoke, VA. He graduated from the great Lucy Addison High School in Roanoke, VA, and received a B.A. in Sociology from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. It was during this time in his life, he married Carole (Manns) Smith, and Todd and Tracye Manns were born into their union. Warren embarked on a notable career as the National Sales Manager at American Airlines, African American Division. He was frequently featured in JET and Ebony Magazine and the Indianapolis Recorder. His American Airline accounts included African American sororities, corporations such as, BET, Johnson & Johnson Beauty Products, Ebony Magazine, The National Society of Black Engineers, The Black Chiropractic Association, United Golfers Association, Indiana Black Expo, Indiana Sports Corporation, National Baptist Convention of America, and other global organizations. His numerous awards and accolades included: American Airlines Outstanding Service in support for African American non-for-profit organizations, The Key to the City of Indianapolis from Mayor William H. Hudnut in 1992 for Outstanding Service to the City of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Visitors and Convention Bureau. Warren retired after 41 years of service at American Airlines. Warren remarried in 1996 to his current wife and best friend of 24 years, Josephine Manns. They were always together even until his last day of his death.
Warren regularly encouraged people with the kind of words of wisdom that would propel them toward their goals and aspirations. Warren mentored young boys and teens through The Crown Mentoring program for under-privileged youth under the leadership of Rev. Richard Reynolds. It was through Crown Mentoring he taught young men how to tie a tie and wear a suit. He also volunteered for the Center for Leadership Development to ensure enrichment opportunities for
African American youth and at the University of Indianapolis to help up-and-coming doctors and therapist.
In Christian ministry, Warren served as an Elder at Westview Christian Church. At Westview he continued his mentoring of youth through the program LOGOS which was a weekly inter-generational gathering sharing dinner, sharing faith, and doing fun arts and crafts projects with children of all ages. He was also Regional Secretary for the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in 2008-2009. Warren also served as a Deacon and servant leader at his church home, New Life Community Church where he faithfully served in leadership in the New Hope Great Banquet Community and the Men's Fellowship under the leadership of Reverend Andrew Hunt, III, Pastor of New Life Community Church.
Warren left a positive impression on everyone he met through his love for family and friends, his enthusiasm of sports, and his appreciation of good music. To know Warren was to love his spirit, kindness, laughter and genuine concern for all people.

Warren Manns' blended family consists of six children, twenty-two grandchildren, 4 great grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and brothers and sisters in Christ and friends.
