Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles and Charlotte Haugh, Bill grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He attended Howe High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Purdue University. Bill built a successful career as an executive in the men’s wear industry, where he was respected not only for his professional manner, but coupled with his integrity and kindness.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He shared meaningful chapters of his life with his first wife, Diana, and later with his beloved wife, Marilyn, whom he married on May 31, 1998, in Oak Park, Illinois. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring partnership.
He was a loving father to his daughter, Amanda, and cherished his close and special relationship with his son-in-law, Jeremy Haugh Langlotz. Bill was also a proud stepfather to Michael and welcomed daughter-in-law Debby Robertson, as well as step-grandchildren Dylan and Drew, into his life with warmth and joy.
Bill never met a stranger. Known for his easy smile and quick sense of humor, he had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met. He was a loyal and lifelong friend to many, offering support, compassion, and understanding without judgment during both joyful and challenging times.
An avid golfer and passionate reader, Bill had a deep love for history and could often be found immersed in a good book or enjoying time on the golf course. He was also deeply devoted to his extended family, holding a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews from both marriages, as well as their children.
Bill gave back generously to his community, supporting organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, the Gary Plumery Foundation, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Charlotte Haugh; his sister, Klaska Wilson; and his brother, Bradley Haugh.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Marilyn; his stepmother, Barbara Haugh; his daughter, Amanda; his son-in-law, Jeremy Haugh Langlotz; his stepson, Michael; daughter-in-law, Debby Robertson; step-grandchildren, Dylan and Drew; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
