Willie Lee Yates

Willie Lee Yates, 86, passed away on Thursday, February 21st, 2019. She was the daughter of John Brumley and Bonnie Brumley (Combs) she was born on November 2, 1932 in Newark, Arkansas. She attended school in Clover Bend, Arkansas.

On November 21, 1952, she married Robert Harold Yates. To this union was born four children: Glendal G. Yates, Carolyn L. Rankin, Ruth M. Green and Vernon H. Yates; 10 grandchildren: Aaron Yates, Caleb Yates, Matt Billingsley, Stacy Billingsley, Steven Billingsley, Kristy Crawford, Kayla Green, Kara Littleton, Kelsey Green and Lydia Stanley; 13 great grandchildren: Joshua Yates, Mackenzie Yates, Grace Yates, Matthew Billingsley, Julie Wright, Layla Billingsley, Abigale Billingsley, Conner Newhart, Alex Castaneda, Autumn Castaneda, Flora Littleton, Deegan Littleton and Zoe Stanley and survived by her sisters Nell Rider, Marjorie Gilbreth and Martha Baker.

Willie was preceded in death by father John Brumley and mother Bonnie Brumley; sister Bonnie Carol Brand and daughter Ruth Green (March 25, 2016).

Willie loved spending time with her grand children and great grandchildren and taking pictures of all family events. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Willie was a long time resident of Indianapolis and in her later years, Greenfield, Indiana where she attended services with her church family.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00am at Greenfield Church of Christ, 1380 South State Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Willie will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert H. Yates at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
