

Delores Goldman, 87, of St. Stephens, passed away March 15, 2016 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1929. A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of St. Stephens, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening, especially flowers. She loved her family dearly and was considered a good mother-in-law and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, each one believing that they were her favorite although she loved them all the same. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Goldman (2005); her parents, Wade and Gertie Stoker and siblings, Wade Stoker, Jr., Bob Stoker, J.S. Stoker and Gordon Stoker. She is survived by children, Betty (Quincy) Baros of St. Stephens, Sandra (Don) Terrell of Jackson, Dewayne (Glenda) Goldman of Leroy; sister, Vassar Brown of Gatlinburg, TN, brother, Otis (Margaret) Stoker of Summerdale; grandchildren, Barry Baros, Danielle (Mike) Morton, Gwen (Tom) Murray, Jason (Suzanne) Terrell, Nicholas Goldman, Lee (Tiffany) Goldman, William (Kim) Goldman; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Johnny Ray (Janice) Goldman of St. Stephens; sisters-in-law, Betty Stoker of St. Stephens, Mary Stoker of Winn; special friends, Mattie Mae Motes, Ginny Motes, Jerry Motes, Carolyn and Pat Daugherty who called her “Queen”, Carol Walker, Jimmie Dale Moseley, Emma Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of St. Stephens with the Revs. Gary Patrick and Sammy Taylor officiating and Rev. Brian Jemison serving as the musical vocalist and niece, Barbara Taylor providing the accompaniment. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be great-grandson, Garrett Murray and grandsons, Barry Baros, Jason Terrell, Nicholas Goldman, Lee Goldman and William Goldman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of St. Stephens, Dr. Steve Furr and Dr. Hercules Panayitou.
