Irma LeRetha Bumpers

Irma LeRetha Milstead Bumpers, 95, a resident of Jackson, AL passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Mrs. Bumpers was born in the Stave Creek-Bolentown Community to Allen and Fannie Milstead on October 13, 1920. She was a retired sales clerk from the Bedsole Fendley Department Store. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Candler “Jack” Bumpers; grandson, William Allen “Lil’ Bill” Bumpers, Jr.; siblings, Aubrey Milstead, Ray Milstead, Eula McMullen, Leola Horton, Aline Milstead, Eva Horton and Emmarene Dolbear. She is survived by her children: Wesley Royce Bumpers of Fleming Island, Fl, William A. “Bill” Bumpers (Faye) of Winn, AL, Thomas J. Bumpers (Sharon) of Mobile, AL, Elaine Lavender of Milton, FL, June Gissendanner (Jimmy) of Leroy, AL, Susan Davis (Jimmy) of Jackson, AL, Ralph Bumpers (Betty) of Winn, AL, April Barton (Mike) of Jackson, AL and Vann C. Bumpers (Nancy) of Leroy, AL; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Otto Milstead of Huntsville, AL. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Zack Bumpers, Britt Bumpers, Wesley Bumpers, Will Bumpers, Chad Bumpers, Zane Bumpers, Jason Lavender, James Gissendanner,Trey Davis, Steven Bumpers, Matt Barton, Brad Barton and Drew Bumpers. The family will receive friends at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 9:30am until the 11:00am funeral service. Rev. Tommy Gaillard will officiate.
