James Cotesworth Pierson

James Cotesworth Pierson, 62, of Mobile entered into rest Saturday, January 10, 2015 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Private interment will follow at a later date. Rev. Terry Charlton will officiate.

Mr. Pierson was a construction contractor by trade but preferred to be playing his guitar with a band over anything. He was an avid biker and loved to be on the open road. Mr. Pierson enjoyed being involved in all types of ministry, from helping homeless and needy families to drug addiction programs, and Christian Motorcycle Clubs. He was predeceased by his parents, James Lamar and Margaret Prida Pierson, his brother, Henry Ernest “Pete” Ladner, Jr., his sister, Ann Ladner McFerrin, and three children, Jeremiah Pierson, Josh Pierson, and Nick Pierson.

He is survived by four children, Anna Pierson Showalter (Terry) of Crestview, FL, James “Jimmy” Pierson III (Mandy) of McIntosh, AL, Heather Pierson of Pensacola, FL, and Sarah Pierson of Weatherford, TX, one sister, Junie Richardson of Montgomery, AL, one brother, Fred Ladner of Montgomery, AL, and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland.
