Alice Houston Hunter

Alice Houston Hunter, 89, passed away Saturday February 8, 2014 at Manhattan Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday February 13, 2014 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be 4:30-6:30pm Wednesday and 9:30am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hunter was a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church and several civic and bridge clubs. She is a retired school teacher with the Jackson Public Schools.

Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, M. M. “Mike” Hunter and son John H. Hunter.

Survivors include son Mickey (Susan) Hunter of Brandon, MS; step-daughter, Mary Baker of Kansas City, MO; granddaughters Mary Baker of Kansas City, MO and Victoria Hunter of Brandon, MS; grandsons Marty (Debbie) Baker of Charleston, SC and Mark Allan Smith of Madison, MS; two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
