

Althea Myrtice Partridge Patterson, 89, of Jackson, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, High Street, Jackson. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park, following the funeral service.
Born September 26, 1921 to Minnie Lee Kirsch and lyde Richard Partridge in Jackson, Mrs. Patterson was a member of Galloway United Methodist Church. A graduate of Central High School, she was employed as a seamstress at N&W Industries/Dickies for 38 years. She enjoyed sewing, handicrafts, reading, and baking her delicious brownies for family and friends. A longtime resident of North Congress St. in downtown Jackson, her favorite pastime was relaxing on the porch swing and visiting with neighbors. "Myrt", as she was fondly known, always had a smile and a wave for anyone who passed her way.
Mrs. Patterson is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy (Pat) Patterson, Sr.; her parents; sisters, Lucille McIntyre and Earline Wall; and brother, Jack Partridge. Survivors include her daughter, Katherine (George) Barnett; son, Roy (Brenda) Patterson of Terry; MS; grandchildren, Brandon Barnett, Brett Barnett, Jeff (Shianne) Patterson, and Maria (James) Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Karyssa Hamilton; step-grandchildren, Jimmy (Brenda) Robertson and Toni Robertson; step great-grandchildren, Mason Harris and Katherine Beggiani; former daughter - in - law, Karen Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the personnel and friends of Manhattan Nursing Home, doctors and staff of St. Dominic Hospital, and the nurses of Hospice Ministries, for their devoted care and support.
