Lucy Dow Noblin 95, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Courtyard Assisted Living in Lafayette, LA. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Lakewood Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11 am. Interment and graveside services will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Anna Lucille Hall better known as “Lucy” was born in Meridian, MS on October 15, 1921 to the late Edward and Candice Campbell Hall. In 1924 her Mother Candice died of double pneumonia and in 1927 her Dad married Ida Bell Hackney.

In 1941 Lucy graduated from High school in Vicksburg, MS and married Percy Wilson Dow. They settled in Jackson, had two children, and enjoyed 42 years of marriage before Percy died in 1983. She later married Clarence Evan Noblin and in 1994 they moved to Lafayette to be close to family.

She was a devoted wife and Mother with many talents and hobbies. At 39 she went to work for M.C. Greenhill and Associates where she worked as a bookkeeper for almost 20 years.

She celebrated life and, together with her husband, enjoyed fishing, square dancing, golf and their many pets. She was a true Christian, full of love, joy and appreciation. She never met a stranger – she loved and cherished all her friends. She especially cherished her family and welcomed everyone into her home and heart. She will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Dorthy Cabell; daughter, Anne (Douglas) Womack; daughter-in-law, Teresa Dow; grandchildren, Roy (Ann) Womack, Chris Dow, Paul (Maria) Dow; great grandchildren, Austin Dow, Cole Womack, Clay Womack, Lawrence Dow; and two nieces, Dollie Harrison and Betty (Art) Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Candice Campbell Hall; step Mother, Ida Bell Hackney Hall; husbands, Percy Dow and Clarence Noblin; son, Larry Dow; step son, Evan Noblin; brother, Edward (Nona & Virginia) Hall; grandson, David Womack; niece, Candice Hall; and nephew, Dow Bryant

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by her family to Lourdes Hospice and the administration and staff at Courtyard Assisted Living where she resided for the last four years.

A special thank you to her loving caregivers, Peggy Joseph, Debra Dalcourt, Brenda James, Nellie Constantine, Paula McGuire and Barbara Broussard; all of whom she loved like family.
