Becky Lynn Barnett, resident of Clinton, MS, died peacefully at her home on January 1, 2023, after battling cancer. A pavilion service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209, on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
Becky was born June 5, 1964, in Los Angeles, CA, to Bernard and Marian Barnett. She was known by many in the community as an artist and a lover of all things beautiful. She taught art at Jackson State University, Millsaps College, and Mississippi College, as well as to family and friends in her home.
Becky is survived by one son, Sam Barnett (Mary); two granddaughters, Karsyn Rivers and Harlin Rae; five siblings, Richard Price, Mike Price (Keri), Janet Foley (Brian), Karen Johansson (Ray), and Lisa Lichlyter (Phillip); and many nieces and nephews, including three who grew up in Clinton: Heather Johansson Lee (Carlos), Anna Johansson Craig (Brian), and Amanda Johansson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of Alcoholics (FOA) at 1298 FOA Road, Jackson, MS 39209.
