Beverly Hardin Bridwell was born in Calhoun county on January 5, 1938, to the parents of Curtis Hartwell Hardin and Pearl Spratlin Hardin. Beverly entered her eternal home in heaven on August 16, 2025, at the age of 87.
For many years she worked as a bookkeeper for the Calhoun County School District and the Pontotoc County School District. After her state retirement, Beverly made another career working at Walmart in Pontotoc, claiming to have worked in every department in the store. Over her lifetime, as an adult, she was an active member of First Baptist Church, Bruce, MS; West Heights Baptist Church, Pontotoc, MS; and First Baptist Church, Clinton, MS. Her love for the Lord Jesus was evident in her acts of kindness and genuine interest in people. After full retirement at 80 years old, Beverly’s love for her family brought her to make a home in Clinton, MS, where she was immediately accepted into friend groups who played cards, dominoes and games every week.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Hardin, Sr. (1963), and Ernest D. Bridwell (2008), her sisters, Dorothy Hardin Crocker and Rebecca Hardin Pilgreen and brother, Hugh “Bud” Spratlin Hardin. Beverly is survived by one son, Bill Hardin (Angie); two granddaughters, Brittni Hardin Caraway (Matthew) and Ashli Hardin Eubanks (Ethan); two great grandchildren, William Michael Eubanks and Lucy Lockett Caraway; brother, Curtis H. Hardin; sister, Billye Hardin; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Ashby Hardin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, at First Baptist Church, Clinton, MS, 10:30 am. A graveside service will be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, at the cemetery of West Heights Baptist Church, Pontotoc, MS, 11:00 am.
