

Boncile Harris, 92, passed away Sunday morning , January 11, 2015. Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday January 17th at Lakewood South Funeral Home, 430 McCluer Road, Jackson. Visitation at 1pm followed by funeral services at 2:30 pm.
Boncile was born on December 10, 1922 in Opp, Alabama to William and Ada Jones. She married Clyde "Boots" Harris in 1940. Together they had 7 children, 21 grandchildren and a host of great grand children . She is survived by 6 of the 7 children and their families: Sylvia Goodwin of Jackson, Jerry Harris of New York City, Donna Bryant of Raleigh, Deborah Carlin of Jackson, Timothy Harris of Las Vegas, NV, and Thomas Harris of Jackson. Her eldest son Clyde Eiland Harris passed away in 2009. And her loving husband, Boots Harris, famed country music musician, passed away in 2003.
Boncile was known for her kindness and quick wit and loving support for everyone she met. Many of you may remember her from the "Garden Room" at LeFleur's where she served Governors, Mayors, legislators, and many stars. Boncile, who her friends called Bonnie, and her multi-talented husband Boots opened and operated the very successful Boots, Hat and Cane night club in Jackson for over 25 years.
The family would like to thank everyone at Manhattan Nursing Home for their years of loving care. And also to thank everyone for sharing their memories of our beloved mother.
