Claireece Ellis Tate

Born on February 22, 1937, Claireece lived a life rooted in grace, strength, and love. She was the cherished wife of the late Jesse Naul Tate Jr., with whom she shared a deep and lasting bond.

Claireece was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted follower of Christ. She had a strong belief in God and a deep love for her church, which was a constant source of strength and community throughout her life. Her spiritual foundation was evident in her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and the way she cared for those around her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Carolyn Rae Tate, and her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She leaves behind:

• Grandson Ronnie W. Grogan and his wife, DeLane Grogan, and their daughter, Jesse Grogan

• Granddaughter Heather G. Megginson and her husband, Robert Kyle Megginson, and their son, Robert Ashton Megginson

• Granddaughter Hannah Grogan Johnson and her husband Ryan Johnson

She also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews, who were cherished members of her extended family and whose lives she deeply influenced.

Claireece was the heart of her family—always steady, always kind. She was a proud great-grandmother, and her legacy lives on through the generations she helped shape, each carrying forward the values of love, faith, and family she held so dear.

She will be remembered for her quiet resilience, warm hospitality, deep love for her family, and her steadfast walk with the Lord. Her home was a place of peace and comfort, and her presence brought light and calm to all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM, followed by a celebration of Claireece’s life at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Flora in Flora, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the “Immeasurably More Building Fund” at First Baptist Church of Flora https://www.fbcflora.org/immeasurably-more or to the Baptist Children’s Village, in honor of Claireece’s generous heart and love for helping others.
