Cynthia Carter McGinn, 62, passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 2PM-5PM at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 4, 2010 at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lakewood South Cemetery.
Cynthia’s “Chabooga’s” favorite pastime was watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She loved to travel. But most important to her was worshiping her Lord with her family. She was a longtime member of Raymond Road Baptist Church and actively attended County Line Baptist Church in Crystal Springs where her son-in-law is pastor.
She was a friend, protector, confidant, and hero to many. She had a lot thrown her way; however, she stood strong and faced each trial never letting anything get her down. Her ten year battle with cancer was long and hard. She fought courageously and never complained. If you were blessed enough to meet her, your life is now richer and fuller for doing so.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bodgey” McGinn, Jr.; sons, Charley and Johnny McGinn; daughters, Robyn McGinn Jones (Rodney) and Jessica McGinn Forrest (Eric); father, Paul Carter; sisters, Paula Carter Sledge, Carolyn Carter Shelby and Joyce Carter Williams; grandchildren, Victoria Jones, Corblin McGinn, Jordan Cothern, Savannah Jones and Aiden Forrest; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank you all for your prayers, love and support. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to County Line Baptist Church Bldg Fund, 3059 County Line Rd, Crystal Springs, MS 39059-9718
