Deborah was one of my oldest friends.  I literally cannot remember a time in my life before I knew her.  She and I lived in the same neighborhood just a block from one another when we were born.  She was born in September and me in December.  One of my earliest memories of us playing together was when we were three, no more than four years old.  The Benson’s cocker spaniel, Candy, had puppies.  She had most of them under their house, but I remember seeing her give birth to one in the yard right in front of us.  That was really something for our young eyes to see.  Deb and I would crawl under her house to play with them.  We had more fun with those puppies.  Even after the Benson’s moved to another neighborhood when Deborah was still in grade school, we stayed close.  We attended one another’s childhood birthday parties, had sleepovers at one another’s houses and ran around together as teenagers in junior and senior high school.  Many revolutions driven around Shoney’s together.  We always kept in touch even after I got bold and moved to Colorado some four decades ago.  I have included a photograph of Deb, Carole Horton and myself when we were attending Wingfield High School.  I have many fond memories of Deborah and will miss her.  She is at peace now. Deborah and I became best friends when we were 13 years old and that relationship became as strong as any two sisters could possibly have. She loved me unconditionally and supported me no matter what. Words  can't describe how much I will miss her, but I know that she is no longer suffering. I can see her smiling that beautiful smile while sitting at Jesus's feet. I will love you always and you will forever be in my heart. 

Deborah was the most beautiful person I have ever known. No matter how hard her life could get she ALWAYS had compassion for others. She is safe in our Lords arms, if he can keep her still! I see her running free from the body that held her down. Smiling that smile that would warm my soul. 

I remember the first time I met Deborah at Aunt Audrey's home in Jackson.  She was beautiful  inside and out.  I was a young bride at the time I had just married her cousin. She was so nice to me. I will miss her.
