Debra Burris Montgomery went home to be with her Savior on Friday, March 17th, 2023. Visitation is scheduled at Morrison Heights Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 21 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of her life. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Debra was born on March 9th, 1954 in Cheverly, MD. Having graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, she served the state of Mississippi for 28 years and retired as the Director of Early Intervention Services at Hudspeth Regional Center. She was a longtime member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church and loved it dearly. She was a loving, devoted and caring daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Her compassionate servant heart and strong faith in the Lord were an inspiration to those who knew her.
Debra is preceded in death by her father, John Burris. She is survived by the love of her life, husband Vernon Montgomery, her daughter Karlye Montgomery, and her mother Inez Burris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morrison Heights Baptist Church Christmas Ministry or the Morrison Heights Missions.
