

Maurice Robinson passed away at the home of his sister on April 7, 2020, after a short bout with cancer. Maurice was loved and respected by all who knew him. He lived all of his childhood in the McDonald Community of Neshoba County, Philadelphia, MS. After attending 11 years of school at Linwood School, Maurice graduated in 1953 from Central High School in Jackson, MS.
Maurice was a member of First Baptist Church in Raymond, MS. During the past few years he attended Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church in Byram, MS and most recently Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.
Before spending two years in The United States Army, Maurice worked at The G.E. Plant in Jackson and a few years in Pascagoula with Engall's Ship Yard. After serving his country, Maurice was a decorated driver for Continental Trailways Bus Company for 35 years and then several years with Cline Tours.
Maurice was a past member of The Wahabi Shrine. At the time of his death, he belonged to Forest Hill Masonic Lodge #613 in Jackson, MS. where he was a very faithful member and held many offices over the years. He was held in high esteem by the members of that Lodge where he will be mourned and greatly missed.
Maurice was the son of the late R.J. And Lexie DeWeese Robinson of the McDonald Community of Neshoba County, Philadelphia, MS He is predeceased by three brothers, Bernard Leon Robinson of Clinton, MS, Robert Jerry Robinson of Brandon, MS and Mack Douglas Robinson, Sr. of Pearl, MS. He is survived by two sisters, Rebecca (Becky) and Jon Hilderbrand of Madison, MS and Martha Robinson Moore of Philadelphia, MS. He is also survived by a sister-n-law, Martha Carter Robinson of Pearl, MS.
The family would like to thank Kare-N-Home Hospice for their undying love, attention and care for Maurice during this time of uncertainty. Their support will never be forgotten.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 10, 2020, at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery with a memorial service to held at a later date.
