Bob was a lifelong resident of Jackson, attended Millsaps College while working for WRBC Radio. He was chief pilot for Dumas Milner Chevrolet for 14 years, after which he purchased Jacobs Aircraft, Co, at Hawkins Field in 1970. For 38 years he ran the business with honesty and integrity to all of his loyal employees and customers. He was awarded the Federal Aviation Administration's Charles Taylor Award in 2008 for having over 50 years as a corporate pilot and aviation mechanic. He had numerous aircraft ratings as a pilot, and held an Aircraft Inspectors Certificate.
Bob was a "one-of-a-kind" Southern gentleman who never expected anything from any employee that he wasn't willing to do himself. He not only was a faithful friend, he was a wonderful employer, always understanding, kind and generous to all who knew him. He will be missed by everyone.
He is survived by his cousins Mary Lou Riemer (Joe), Dede Wilson, Robert Bottolfs (Linda), E.A. "Buddy" Campbell, and their children and grandchildren and a host of friends.
The family is eternally grateful to Bob's devoted friends, family members and his loving caregivers who meant so much to him.
