Edward Clayton Jones

Visitation will be Thursday May 10, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and 10:00am Friday May 11, 2012 until the 11:00 a.m. service at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High St. in Jackson. The service will be officiated by Rev. Duaine Morgan and Rev. Doug Jones (nephew). Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd. in Jackson.

Clayton was born October 30, 1928, in Burnside, MS. After serving in the navy, he moved to Jackson in 1950. He worked for the Borden Company over 20 years before becoming President and CEO of McCarty-Culver Merchandise Broker, Inc. After his retirement in 2000, he enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to his cattle, and hunting with his grandson. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are his parents Annie Bell and Toman L. Jones, and one brother Paul S. Jones of Burnside, MS.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Joyce Jones, son Jack C. Jones, daughter Linda Jo Nations (Loy), grandchildren Neil and Anna Nations, all of Brandon. One brother Carl H. Jones (Barbara) and sister-in-law Dorothy Jones, all of Burnside.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sta-Home Hospice for their care and support during his illness.
