Edwina Carter

Edwina Carter, 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Lakewood Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter was born on March 10, 1924 in Richton, MS. She worked as a seamstress at Norman’s Shirt Makers in Jackson for 23.5 years. She loved doing yard work, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, O.D. Carter; parents, Boykin and Mamie Edwards Farmer; and 3 brothers.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her children, Eddie Carter (Linda), Linda Kelly (Pat), Bonnie Thomas (David), Mary Kurtz, Annette Whittington (Roger) and Danny Carter; sister, Joyce Allred; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
