Gwen Alliston Walker Paulson, age 84, was born on September 18, 1933 in the community of Hickory Ridge, Florence, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm and Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 10 am to 11 am at Lakewood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 am with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Gwen graduated from Florence High School in 1952 and attended Mississippi College her Freshman year. Then she met her future husband Billy Walker, they married and had four children. Gwen was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sanctuary Choir for many years and later was a member of the Senior Adult Choir and Reflections Choir as she was able.
Gwen enjoyed tennis, gardening, bird watching, and “Maroon and White with MSU.” In 1986 she married Gerald Paulson and they resided in Brandon. She and Gerald enjoyed traveling until he died in 2003. Gwen continued living in Castlewoods until her death when she went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 20, 2018.
Gwen was preceded in death by Billy Walker, Gerald Paulson and brother, Robert Alliston. She is survived by her children, Brenda Walker, Jennifer Walker Bullock (Terry), Angie Myers Spencer (Joe) and Bill Walker; only sister, Margarett Basco; brothers, Richard Alliston (Ellie) and Johnnie Lee Alliston, Jr. (Luise); stepdaughter, Pat Paulson Pierce and her son, Jerry (VeLisa) and their daughter, Mahkinlee; grandchildren, Kyle Myers, Chad Myers, and Walker Bullock; great-granddaughters, Grace, Abbey and Greer.
