

Hazel Dickson Sims, 75, Born April 10, 1938, passed away on November 20, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Born in Natchez and raised in Jackson, she graduated from Central High School in 1956 and married her husband Levern Sims , in that same year.
Hazel worked as secretary for Cabell Electric for many years, and she retired from Western Auto Distribution Center. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for over 60 years and was an advocate for the Good Samaritan Center. Hazel was an avid bowler and loved to travel both in the United States and Europe.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Allie Taylor Dickson and George T. Dickson, Sr. Survivors include her husband of 56 ½ years, Levern; son Robert (Bobby) Sims; brother, George T. Dickson, Jr. (Patsy); sister, Auleen Skees (Bob), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is appreciative of the care given to Hazel by those at Baptist Hospital, Highland Home, Specialty Select Hospital, and Hospice Ministries.
Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High St. and after 9 am Saturday. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10 am in the funeral home chapel.
