Irvin “Wayne” Mays , 67, passed on Thursday, August 27,2015 surrounded by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home from 1-2 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2015 with a memorial service at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Wayne was born on January 1, 1948 to Thomas and Frances Louise Mays in Stanton, Virginia. He served 3 years in the Army (PFC) and fought in the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Mays and brother, Marvin Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Della Mays; children, Kimberly Wood (Chris), Tim Mays (Deanna); grandchildren, Aubrey Gammill, Tabitha, Jennifer and Kristina Wood, Tony Phillips and Rachell Waddell.
