James Arthur Crawford , age 95, of Clinton died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6 to 8pm and Thursday from 10 to 11 with funeral services to follow in the funeral home chapel, all will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Crawford was born in New Hebron, MS and moved to Clinton in 1955. He was the oldest of 10 children born to the late James Edwin and Aletha Ann Sullivan Crawford. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. and Mrs. Crawford were charter members of Morrison Heights Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Frances Massey Crawford.
He is survived by his daughter, Janis Pender of Clinton; son, Randy Crawford (Tammy) of Raymond; son, David Crawford (Lisa) of Colleyville, Texas, sisters, Carolyn Rains and Christine Cook; along with nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express our deepest appreciation for the loving care and comfort Arthur received from the caregivers at the Kosciusko Veteran's Home and Hospice Ministries.
