

Jim Savage, 87, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2016 with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Jim was born on November 29, 1928 in West Point, MS to the late James Raphiel and Lucy Unger Savage. He graduated from West Point High School in 1947. He then attended Ole Miss where he graduated in 1951 with a Degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Savage was a Commissioned Officer in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1954. He was a resident of Clinton for the past 55 years where he owned and operated the Drug Center pharmacy from 1955-1980. He then went on to be the Director of Pharmacy at Whitfield until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement he went to work for Walmart until June of 2016. Mr. Jim was a member of Van Winkle Methodist church where he led the singing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores “Snookie” Savage; parents; and sister, Olin Ray McFadden.
Mr. Jim is survived by his son, J.R. Savage; daughters, Ramona Martin and Tammy Savage; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
