

Jerald Beasley, 93, went to be with his Lord on July 24, 2015, surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, with another hour of visitation immediately prior to the funeral. The funeral and burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28. All events will take place at Lakewood South Funeral Home, 430 McCluer Road, Jackson MS 39212. Born April 24, 1922 in Buhl, Alabama, Jerald was the only son of John William and Audrey Enola Oxford Beasley. He spent his early years in Ansley and Jonesboro, Louisiana and graduated from Jonesboro-Hodge High School. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University where he participated in football and band. He was a Captain in the Marine Corps and served during World War II and the Korean War. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ernestine Mae Lucky Beasley, wife Ruth Utley Beasley, and stepson David Randolph Green. He is survived by his wife, Vida Irene Lord Green Beasley, son John William Beasley (Linda), daughter Jeri Ruth Beasley (Robin Barnes), grandchildren Candice Angela Beasley VanSant (Charles), Jessie Nicholas Beasley (Angel), and Jennifer Noel Beasley, and 3 great-grandchildren. Jerald is also survived by his daughter, Sherryl Lynn Green McAlilly (David), and grandchildren Jonathan Carter McAlilly and Brodie Jackson McAlilly. Jerald was a loving husband, father, friend and a well-known Professional Mechanical Engineer in the state of MS. He was a long-time member of Leavell Woods United Methodist Church.
He feels a whole lot more like he does now than he did before.
