

JoAnn Foshee Rogers passed away quietly at home with loved ones Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the age of 78. JoAnn was born on March 16, 1937 to the late Joby Foshee and Annie Kintsley. JoAnn’s passions were flowers, scrap booking, painting, and following her grandsons to watch them play baseball. She was a tennis team member at Hinds Jr. College, and softball player at First Baptist Church of Byram. She was a previous youth leader at First Baptist Church of Byram, and a charter member of Brookleigh Baptist Church in Byram.
JoAnn worked for Jackson Public Schools, and retired after 25 years of service. She brought joy to many as she created lasting floral memories for many weddings, proms, and school events. Those who knew JoAnn know that her heart was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved dearly and always tried to create special times and moments for them. She was dearly loved and will be missed very much.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Vernon Rogers; son, Brice Rogers; daughters, Angie Pope, Theresa Hill, and Shelley Dear; brother David Foshee (Frances); sisters-in-law, Kay Foshee and Ann Foshee; grandchildren, Kellie Moore, Van Pope, Josh Rogers, JoAnna Pope, Ashleigh Pope, Clancy Rogers, Zoie Dear, and Casey Dear; great-grandchildren, Madison Moore, Anna Moore, Brad Moore, and Grayson Moore. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Foshee and Barney Foshee; and her grandchild, Shelby Jones.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 12-2pm at Lakewood Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at Lakewood Funeral Home South, with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
