Mrs. Katherine Boutwell

Belle Katherine Ponder Boutwell, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Visitation will be tonight from 5-7 PM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street, Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, September 3, 2010 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Mendenhall City Cemetery.

Katherine was born on May 15, 1926 in Flora, MS to R.L. and Maggie Ponder and has lived in Magee, MS since 2006. She made her home in Jackson of 34 years prior to a move to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1988.

Through her years with South Central Bell she made many lifelong friends. They truly saw what a special person Katherine was and the joy she brought into their lives. She retired from South Central Bell with over 40 years of service. She was a very giving person and thought of others’ needs before her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Carl G. Boutwell, Sr of Magee, MS; three children, Carl G. Boutwell, Jr and wife Debra of Brandon, MS; Dan Boutwell and wife Cindy of Houston, TX, and Katrina Boutwell Keeney of Madison, MS; seven grandchildren: Grey Boutwell and wife Cortni of Brandon, MS, Benjamin Boutwell of Madison, MS, Brad Boutwell and wife Keli of Houston, TX, Matt Boutwell of Denver, CO, Craig Boutwell and wife Amber of Houston, TX, Jamie Brunskil of Houston, TX, Christy Berry, Kelli Brown, Danny Brown of Houston, TX, and Anna Katherine Keeney of Madison, MS; three great grandchildren: Carmen and John William Brunskil and Payten Boutwell all of Houston, TX. Extended family: Nieces, Grace Bryant and husband Jimmy of Oak Vale, MS, Gail Tortorich of New Orleans, LA; great nephews, Jeremy Bryant of Atlanta, GA and Jacob Bryant of Rushton, LA; great nieces, Jessica Bennett and husband Brad of Rushton, LA and Jennifer Bryant of Rushton, LA.
