Linda Holder

Linda Weathersby Holder, 84, of Jackson, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 4pm to 6pm at Raymond Road Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11am Friday, January 20, 2012 at the church with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Holder graduated from Draughn’s Business School and worked as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Jackson Building and Permit Dept for 36 years before retiring. She was a charter and lifetime member of Toxie K. Stapleton VFW Post 6473 and served as president for four terms. She was a member of Forest Hill Homemakers Club and an active member of Raymond Road Baptist Church. She was a former active member of West Jackson Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Holder’s family and friends were everything to her and she loved them dearly. She loved her country and was very patriotic.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gettie G. Weathersby, and her beloved husband, Andrew Holder, Jr. and brother, Rex Weathersby.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Somers and her husband Ted; son, Mark Holder, grandchildren, Robby Butts and his wife Ashley, Erica Holder, LeeAnn Hill and five step-grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Andy Holder Retired Ministers Fund, 4622 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS 39212.
