She was born to parents Johnny and Viola Thornton of Conehatta, MS. After graduating high school she married Joseph Lloyd Kelly when he returned from World War 2. She was a devout Christian and homemaker as well as drove a school bus for Forest Hill School for many years.
Ms Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Dennis Kelly, her parents, two sisters and eight brothers. She is survived by daughters Diane (David) Weeks of Jackson, Deborah (Paul) Lee of Brandon, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for family will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 12:00 noon. Dr. Keith Grubbs will officiate.
