Mark Steven Glascoe (10/5/1956-11/4/2019), Flora, MS, passed away of natural causes Monday, November 4, 2019. Mark was a graduate of Clinton High School and became an Electrician by trade. He married his high-school sweetheart Patricia Callegan and along came a family with three sons, Steven, Jeremy, and Joseph. With three boys there was always something going on and something to do or could be done. Mark and Patricia celebrated their forty-third anniversary this past March.
Mark’s employment career began at the age of sixteen at Delta Steele. Throughout the years, he became a licensed journeyman electrician, and during the boys’ younger years these jobs led him to working out of town at various paper mills and plant shutdown conversion projects. As the boys grew older, he worked on many projects more locally that are very notable, most notable are Mirror Lake Plaza, St Dominics North Medical Mall, remodel of Doctor’s Hospital into the Cancer Center, Northeast Louisiana Library (now University of Louisiana Monroe), and the federal prison in Yazoo City, MS. During these projects, he worked for Wye Electric, Ivey Electric, and other electrical contractors. For the past fifteen plus years, Mark was employed by Yates Services as the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor at Nissan USA in Canton, MS.
Mark was always a hands-on type who enjoyed the outdoors by trapping, hunting, and fishing. Successful hunts or trapping trips meant more fun for the boys. The boys were always around and sometimes more willing than others to lend a helping hand. He still probably has tools missing from them trying to help. Some of their best childhood memories are from helping him with projects around the house, whether that was cutting firewood, working on the never-ending house remodel, fixing an automotive issue, loading and hauling hay, or helping in the garden. For many years, he always enjoyed a good game of pool and in more recent years, he enjoyed playing dominoes and Bejeweled. If you were a Facebook friend and played Bejeweled, you probably have gifts shared from him.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Roland Glascoe and his youngest son, Joseph Andrew Glascoe. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Glascoe, sons Steven Glascoe (Andrea), Brandon, MS, and Jeremy Glascoe (Amy), Bentonia, MS, his mother, Ollie Glascoe and his sisters, Pam Birdwell, Sherry Eckles (Gary), and Gail Purvis all of Flora, MS. Mark is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor Glascoe, Reed Glascoe, Hunter Glascoe, Keegan Glascoe, Grady Sudbeck, Cody Sudbeck, and Ryleigh Sudbeck, along with many other nieces and nephews.
