
Funeral services will be Thursday August 1, 2013 at 11:00am from the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm till 7:00pm and Thursday at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Lay Sr. and Son Col. Bob Lay Jr., as well as her parents Mary Hardy and Joe Case, brother Jim Hardy and loving aunt, Olive Hodges.
Peggie is survived by sons Billy Lay, Jimmy Lay (Debbie), daughters Kanani Pardue (Ollie), Patti Clark (Jim), Lisa King, Tina Clark, Donnie Lay and daughter-in-law Patti Lay, sisters, Jean Bandy, Joy Moore, Sue Dickson, Debbie Martin and brother Joey Case. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
Peggie was born in McComb, Mississippi, February 3, 1924. Her family moved to Jackson when she was small. She attended Central High School where she was voted Most Beautiful. Peggie was also Miss Jackson. During her senior years she was elected Ms. Baptist Adult Daycare. She was a member of Capital Street United Methodist Church. Peggie retired from Vickers and the Mississippi Employment Security Commission.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Peggie had a special place in her heart for her pets and all other animals.
We would like to thank Compere’s Nursing Home for taking such good care of our Mother the last few years and Pax Hospice for their support during her final days.
