
Michael Patterson, 67, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 12 noon Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Lakewood Funeral Home; graveside services are 2pm Wednesday in Clinton cemetery. Mr. Patterson was born in Lancaster, PA in 1946; his parents were the late George and Dorothy Jean Patterson. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and Mississippi College. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Clinton. Mr. Patterson was a die-hard gun enthusiast; he loved to shoot and collect guns. He was employed with the MS State Tax Commission, Bureau of Revenue for 27 years as Assistant Director. He married his high school sweetheart, Faye Iris Kersh and they remained married for 35 years until her death in 2003. He was a loving husband and father. He leaves behind his daughter Anna Patterson Curtis and her husband Trent of Clinton, brother George Patterson and wife Sammie of Florence; nieces and a nephew that he adored as his own children, Debbie Williams (Burt) of AZ, Paula Walker (Jay) of TX, and Bret Patterson (Melissa) also of TX; several great nieces and nephews and one precious grandchild, Noah Monroe Curtis of Clinton. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
