

Mrs. Myrtis Brock James Fair, 93, peacefully left this mortal life to be with her Lord while at home in Chesapeake, VA on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Lakewood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fair was born on December 23, 1921 in Harrisville, MS to the late Wylie Green and Lula Candious Lewis Brock. She was the youngest child of eleven siblings.
She is preceded in death by husbands, John E. James (Brookhaven, MS) and Henry J. Fair (Louisville, MS), parents, and siblings.
Mrs. Fair, along with husband John James, relocated from Jackson to Hollywood, CA in the 1950s, where she worked as a hair stylist and color specialist for various Hollywood studios and privately owned salons. Upon the retirement of her husband, John, they moved home to Harrisville, MS in 1982. She was employed at Earle and Joseph Beauty Salon, in Jackson, as a hair stylist and color specialist until her retirement in 2001. Having been widowed in 1989, she married Henry J. Fair of Louisville, MS in 2002. Mr. and Mrs. Fair relocated to Chesapeake, VA in 2008 to reside with her daughter, Candious, and son-in-law, Dr. Michael Hill, who serves as Chairman of the Department of Theatre Arts at Regent University, in Virginia Beach, VA. Mr. Fair subsequently passed away in 2011.
Mrs. Fair is survived by her daughter, Candious James Hill (Michael); grandchildren, Alexis Taylor Akridge (Jayson) and Bronwyn Mackenzie Hill; and step-grandchildren, Robert Edwards and Johnna Edwards Myers. Mrs. Fair was a member of Harrisville Baptist Church and, subsequently, First Presbyterian Church of Louisville, MS.
