

Oscar Frederick Eaves, Jr. (95) went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2021. Visitation will be at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS from 10 AM to 11 AM. Military service to follow at 11 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Fred was born at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, TX to his parents Oscar Frederick Eaves and Edna Louise Johnson Eaves.
A veteran of WWII, he entered the Naval Aviation Flight Program and served active and reserve duty for 28 years, retiring as a Full Commander.
He is pre deceased by his father Oscar Frederick Eaves and mother Edna Louise Eaves Duffy. He was married to Mary Etta Kilpatrick Eaves for 58 years and after she passed away, remarried for 7 years to Jean Lucius of Garland, TX.
Living relatives include son Terry D. Eaves and his wife Christy Lynn Pierce Eaves. Granddaughters Kelsey Lundstrom (Jacob; son Kaden), Kadey Grogan (Cody) and great grandson Levi all of Rankin County, MS. Son Frederick Jay Eaves of Lauderdale County, MS and wife Monica Gallant Eaves, Granddaughter Avrie Wilczynski (Casey) and great granddaughters Alina and Ayda.
Fred graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics.
After graduation, he went to work with Standard Oil Company of Kentucky and was Assistant Division Manager of the Mississippi Division later to become Chevron. He was transferred to the Executive Offices of Chevron, located in Louisville, KY as Manager of Aviation. Fred moved his family from Louisville to Jackson, MS where he opened Fred Eaves Builder and Eaves Realty. After 10 years in building and realty, he longed to return to the Oil Patch and bought crude oil from the TX/LA line onshore to Florida, gathered it, transported and marketed it to refiners. After 11 years, he retired from Texaco. 29 years in the oil patch and 10 years in the Home Building and Realty business and retired.
He had membership in the Jackson Rotary Club, in the Jackson, State and National Home Builders and the same membership in the Realty Association and was past president of the Brandon Lions Club. He was also a member of Brandon Presbyterian Church.
He has blessed the lives of all who knew him and his loved ones will forever cherish the memories made with our Paw.
