

Bobby is survived by his wife Linda Jo, son Richard Hammack(Jennifer), Grandson Chaise (Brittany) Hammack and his precious great grandchildren Whitten Marie and Cole Beckett and bonus Granddaughter Abbey Jewel Fennell. His Bonus daughters Alison (Frankie) Tadlock, Amy (Marcelo) Vazquez, and Susan (Scott) Whigham. His Brother Jack Hammack of Richland, MS and sister Peggy Delmer (Lee) from Pasco, WA. as well as his best friend and brother in law Henry (Carolyn) Spears and many other nieces, nephews and bonus grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife Carola Hammack; his parents Carl C Hammack and Louise Leggett Hammack.
Bobby worked for many years at the MS State Tax Commission where he retired as ABC Warehouse Manager. He was an avid Car Enthusiast with his ‘57 Wagon he called "Shaggy" and a member of the Mississippi Street Rod Association, spending many weekends going to car shows, cruise ins and bringing home several honors and awards. He spent many years in the drag racing scene in the 60s and early 70s running the line at the old 49 track and River Side Dragstrip. Bobby was a great friend to all who knew him. He was the best son, husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed.
A visitation for Bobby will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home.
